LWBA'S JUNIOR PROGRAM

Forest City Flash 2009/2010...Coach Paul Bowes, Emma, Connor, Equipment Manager and Assistant Coach Bill Langeveld, Katie, Claire, Madi, Mackenzie, Team Representative Matt Voss, Colin, Eric, Ken, Jordan, Johnathan, Josh, Team Manager and Assistant Coach Tony Reynen...absent Rebecca, and Coach Ron Sanderson.

London Wheelchair Basketball Association (LWBA) are seeking players aged 12 to 21 to participate in our junior wheelchair basketball program.

Wheelchair basketball players do not need to be confined to a wheelchair to play.  Many players are able to ambulate without the use of a wheelchair or any assistive device at all.  Player disabilities range from spinal cord injury to joint disease, injury or amputation.  Many youth affected by cerebral palsy, spina bifida, polio or muscular dystrophy are capable of full participation in the sport of wheelchair basketball.  Disabled  youths, even those participating in a regular sport program are not necessarily excluded from participation in a wheelchair basketball program.

Participants must be able  to sit in and manually propel a wheelchair basketball chair.  Good upper body coordination and the ability to transfer to and ambulate independently in a sport wheelchair are required.

Your interest and assistance is greatly appreciated.

If you or anyone you know would like further information about this program, please contact:
